MaxSolar was named as winner of the The smarter E AWARD 2024 in the Category "Oustanding Projects" for the application Innovation Project Bundorf.
This solar park with an output of 125 MWp, realized as part of a citizen participation scheme, can supply 37,500 households with green power. In addition to the ground-mounted photovoltaic system, a renewable district heating network and an e-charging infrastructure were also implemented. The “zero-emissions concept” for heat generation was also complemented by several biodiversity measures, all of which have a positive impact on environmental protection and rural development. For example, the plant serves as a compensation area, the low-yield soils are enriched with organic material by providing shade for plants and animals and preventing the soil from drying out during periods of drought. Some sections are reserved for nature conservation, promoting biodiversity through extensive grazing and the use of native seeds. The park’s fencing is designed to allow small animals to pass through more easily, while larger animals can use a wildlife corridor to reach the neighboring forests.
